Great Discount! unfortunately any other pro I think of really has nothing to do with company but what peers bring to workplace.Cons
used to have so many more pros but last 3 years since family sold business pros have decreased instead of increased.
start with hiring - company demands increased hiring of permanent staff for busy times of year BTS and first snowfall (2 months max of year) then reduced hours for down months (majority of year) results in loss of staff morale and good staff.
Promised great training, best in industry, however seems to always be under construction making it challenging to provide consistency for old and new staff.
My biggest con is the undermining done by District and Regional Managers who should be supporting their teams through change not adding to the daily pressure of running a business. No trust means insecure, unhappy staff who spend their day frustrated and complaining (non productive) instead of being positive and happy(productive) to work for a company who appreciates every employees contribution. It seems to me The Shoe Company has a lot of job postings for full time and management roles for established locations and other retail companies don't, Interesting.
Communicate the right information consistently and allow that communication to go in both directions. Open Door policy? not really open when you don't know if you have support and there are hidden but obvious agendas.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Who or what is The Shoe Company? what are your mission, vision and values? who are your best ambassadors to sell it? who are they selling it to? why are so many good team members unhappy or leaving? look at how and what is being communicated to the support system (store teams) is it consistent, supportive and encouraging?Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookApproves of CEO
