A lot of work, little pay, but gain good work experience

Current Employee - Sale Assistant  in  Plano, TX
Current Employee - Sale Assistant in Plano, TX

I have been working at Things Remembered part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Get to interact and learn how to sell to customers. Learn how to manage a store by yourself.

    Cons

Only one person per shift, closing is a pain in the butt when you close alone, staying at the store late trying to finish engraving. A lot of responsibility for not enough pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees more, pay them for the amount of work and responsibility they have. Don't have only one person when closing, and at least give some kind of initiative to employees for meeting their sales goal, like commission or something. I enjoyed and didn't mind the work but when I have to run a store by myself, selling to a customer, working on their order form, trying to meet my sales goal, checking out customers engraving, closing registers depositing money, cleaning and organizing the store and coming home like at 11 pm with school in the morning i think i should get paid more than just $8, it gets tiring when you have to do it alone.
