I have been working at Thomson Reuters full-time (More than 8 years)
A large company in some high-profile industries.
In 8.5 years at TR, there have been 4 new CEOs and 11 rounds of layoffs. No budget for training or professional development and it shows in quality of the products. Very little input from customers. All product specs are written product managers who never, ever talk directly to customers.
Advice to Management
1. Get customers directly involved in the product planning process. 2. Stop asking product developers to put in heroic overtime to try to make up for the fact that dev teams are under-resourced and under-trained.
