I have been working at Thrivent Financial full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Benefits are excellent, you can talk about God/prayer and not be fired over it, lots of vacation time.

    Cons

Pay is extremely low, even for those with Bachelors and Masters degrees and related experience, open cubicle environment sometimes encourages micromanagement of employees (even managers have cubicles), hard to move up into management from the individual contributor role, good talent is wasted by poor recognition system, organization chart is constantly changing so jobs frequently get cut at the higher management level, the company has made some extremely foolish business decisions that are not well thought out and have been detrimental to Thrivent's Christian reputation, foolish business decisions are extremely risky for the longevity of this organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you're going to call yourself a Christian organization, you need to walk, talk and act like a Christian organization. Actions speak louder than words (and our members can see right through us).
