CEO's heart is in right place, but managers below him seem to have little to no training on how to manage people.

    Pros

There are some good people here. This company is having success because of the CEO's great ideas and in spite of the subpar management. If only the proper infrastructure were in place (unlikely as would require an overhaul), this company would take off.

    Cons

The review previous to this one was obviously submitted by a manager or human resources.

Managers will hold grudges against you and will actively seek to hold you back if they feel threatened by your ability. There is not much room to grow within the company unless you are willing to sick duck every day. Communication and teamwork between departments is nonexistent. Management is generally unqualified and poorly educated. There is a willingness to throw employees under the bus to save themselves. Most in management positions seem to have been hired because of some sort of family relationship instead of ability. Raises are given arbitrarily; if you have a tentative manager, you will never get a raise no matter how productive you are. The opposite is true as well, so it is basically luck of the draw. A lot of employees start out with a lot of enthusiasm that is quickly quelled by their managers' attitudes and actions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to think about your employees and their goals. Take some training so you know how to properly manage people.
