    I worked at TigerDirect part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Company gets great spiffs for commission sales reps

    Cons

    They keep you on the books as a part-time employee, but put you on the schedule to work full time hrs and as a commissioned sales rep you dont get any hrly wages so you basically work for no addit'l benefits, personal time is always a hassle to ask for, not a good company to work for if you have young children, they make you attend weekly meetings without pay, that's right without pay, and if you have the day off you are still expected to go in and not get compensation for meetings, upper mgmt doesn't care what your opinion is, they talk down to their staff and employees trash one another and its every person for themselves. Schedule starts on Sundays and ends on that Saturday. Most Friday evenings or Saturday afternoons is when the schedule for the next week would be sent out, so if you have either of those two days off better hope you can track someone down for your schedule, and if you have any time off over the weekend(which is rare) you cant plan for the entire weekend in advance because you never know if you're working the Sunday following the end of the week. I don't have enough time, but I could go on and on...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try giving employees the proper pay they deserve; that even if they are commissioned their time to come in on their day off for a mandatory meeting they should receive compensation; nobody likes working for free. Also, too many people in mgmt positions that were just given a title, but dont actually Manage the store..listen to your employees, they are at the front lines of your business and if they arent happy, your customers wont be happy...and if customers arent happy, well... *shrugs*
