I worked at Tommy Bahama full-time (More than a year)
The only really good thing I can say is that they do allow you to use your vacation time at any point in the year, rather than annually like most companies.
When you read the reviews on this website, you need to be aware that Tommy Bahama management is actively writing FAKE reviews to manipulate their score and ensure they get a higher rating. Management on all levels including Regionals and corporate would rather give the appearance of looking better than actually put an effort into making this a better company. This is a company that is managed by people whose only priority is themselves and how they look to the higher-up and prevent anyone on the next level from finding out what really goes on. Corporate meanwhile, lives in a glass bubble completely unaware of how the company makes money, is run or how to connect with customers or their own employees. Frankly I don't think they want to get involved. Regional managers are empowered to run their area as if it were their own company with no accountability and strictly prohibit anyone from contacting corporate on any matter. And forget about being promoted. The only way to move up in this company is to be a back-stabber and fake. Only those on the list of the regional managers favorite people will get promoted. For years I have seen very qualified people passed over and yet totally unqualified people get promotions. And of course corporate is completely oblivious (or doesn't care). Work Life Balance: there is no such thing with shifts that can go very late and then you are scheduled to come back 8 hours later early in the morning, plus you may be required to work 2 part time shifts in the same day.
Advice to Management
Corporate needs to get involved with the entire structure of the company and provide a true way for ALL employees to have a voice and encourage them to contact corporate office with their concerns and issues without reprisals or being required to pass everything through the management filter.
