I worked at Top Pot Doughnuts part-time (less than an year)

The product is great (especially the coffee). This type of job is has a morning-focus, so it's ideal for people that are early to rise. The cafes have a welcoming atmosphere with books and other items that make it you feel at home.

Due to the nature of the business, the hours of work are miserable. Some of my shifts involved getting to work at 5:00 AM, which is incredibly early for most people. As such, it made it difficult to get another job to supplement as I was completely drained by the time I was finished with my shift. However, the biggest con with Top Pot was the management. Very poor communication and policies. One week we could wear what we wanted as they encouraged our "diversity" - the very next we were required to wear company t-shirts. The inconsistency of working for this company is what made this the worst job I've ever had.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication and consistency. Setting a policy and then changing it multiple items is not a good way to do things - plus it leaves your employees with the notion that you don't know what you're doing.
