Good Benefits. Miss my company car and its benefits.

Broken Promises. After about 3-6 months of "courting", they "let the hammer down on adjusters". All of a sudden, you can do NOTHING right. Inadequate and Substandard Training. Numbers and Metrics are destroying this company as a good workplace. Must be willing to accept HIGH Stress; just not told upfront. NO Excuses is their Moto.

Adjusters are provided with a very low Authority to settle claims even based on their experience level. Then UM's will not allow you to settle the claim "on site", even for a simple roof claim, without their first reviewing your estimate. Hard to do when you are in areas with NO data signal and/or, they do not answer their phone. And remember, you are on site being expected to make this a First Call Settlement or be Written Up with looming termination! When you address these issues with Mgmt, they just tell you to Document your file. But guess what, when it comes to meeting the Numbers, they don't read your file! So what do you do, Lie? And what about the other appointments you have made who are miles away and the insured has taken off during their lunch and has their contractor waiting for you at their appointment? Just a typical NO WIN situation that gets you Written Up as a failure.

Subjects ruled by Intimidation, Harassment, and Degradation. Threats of Written Warnings with upcoming termination is common if you cannot find a way to "beat the system". That would seem to require lies and misrepresentation to succeed. No respect for adjusters, even those with 10+ years of experience who were accustomed to running Large Losses, Contents and A.L.E. After 6 months, you find out the job is operated based on a NO WIN situation. Even Unit Managers were quitting. Must tell one something.... Smart people pay attention to RED FLAGS. Watch any company for High Employee Turnover. This speaks Volumes!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire upper management with people who recognize employee's contributions. QUIT relying on a Computer to dictate the number of claims that MUST be settled on a daily basis. All claims are NOT equal due to size, complexity, and distance. Computers do NOT take this into consideration when generating their "Numbers". Hire yourself liaisons between Upper Mgmt, Unit Mgrs, and Field Employees. Base your decisions on REAL FACTS, not just computer generated false numbers. However, any company who only looks at profits is likely not a safe place for employees to work if they desire longevity. MANY years ago, Travelers USED to be a great place to work....
