    I worked at Travelers Companies full-time (more than 3 years)


    Travelers is a great company. Decent paid and benefit. If you can prove yourself as a top performer to your manager, you can receive a nice deent bonus with merit increase. The training is also great and I have learned a lot from this company.


    At Travelers, the employees are divided to be insiders / oustiders. If you are in the insiders group, you are on the favorite list by managers which means you can move around within the cmpany regardless how your perform on the job. If you are in the outsiders group, it would be difficult to advance your career and move to other department. Career advancement is non-existent. Hiring managers are playing coporate politics which pays a huge part in disrupting employees' opportunity to advance career. Some hiring managers are not even remotely qualify for the their jobs as they never handled the type of business they are leading the group. They are hired because they knew someone at the Senior management level. Hiring decision is based on who you know instead of what you know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Figure out a way to retain top talent and reshape the hiring practice. Promote employees within the company base on their true performance and talent. If the company does not get their act toghether, it will continue to lose top talents to its competition.
