I have been working at TriQuint full-time (more than 10 years)Pros
For the most part, there is a collegial attitude amongst employees. A lot of engineering companies in the area have a reputation for salary and promotion practices that encourage nasty competition amongst employess, and to its credit, TriQuint is not one of those companies.Cons
Being a small company with little turnover, opportunities for advancement or to change groups are almost non-existent. Upper management prefers external hires to internal hires for almost all management positions.
After being bought out by RFMD, the odds that the Hillsboro location will survive in tact are rather low. The consensus opinion is that RFMD is interested in the filter business coming out of the Florida and Texas facilities, and not Oregon's ailing GaAs fab and diminishing ability to get power amplifier design wins.
If you're already in the area, go ahead and take a job here. Relocating for this company seems like a big gamble at this point.Advice to ManagementAdvice
