    Pros

    Weekly pay, reasonable starting salary, reasonable benefits, paid vacations, working outside, minimal office time, working with people from ALL walks of life, commissions for sales, constant learning opportunities,cancel retention bonuses,yearly salary increases based on individual performance

    Cons

    Home time, poor individual pay plan incentives and reward structure, bonuses are based on the branches performance not the individual, lack of a set schedule, Saturday work based on production revenue of the entire orifice staff and not an individual's performance, upper management micro-management of the production staff, lay-off potential, lack of on-the- job experience by the owners and "big wigs" in the field producing a we are forced to do.

    Advice to Management

    The production staff are THE most important employees there are. Yet we get the short end of the stick while the "big wigs" sit in their lush offices or pool side, micro-managing every little aspect of our jobs. There is no reason for any specialist to work 12 hrs a day, 6 days a week and not be able to support themselves nor their families. The Daily production goals are based on $$$. They should be based on customer service. Without the customer there is no Trugreen. With that being said, here's a thought. There are 6 weeks to the round rotation. If there are 600 customers in a route, that's 100 customers a week, 20 a day for a 5 day work week. If the AAP is $50, that's $1000 a day per specialist. Each route should be broken down this way. This would improve the work/home balance and give specialists the opportunity to ensure that each property is done properly and is treated proactively. .
    Another thought, "Undercover Boss" is a great way to get real world experience and understanding into the daily work experiences of the production staff. This would only work if it were done at many branches across the country.
    The production staff busts their rears day in and day out. Increase the salaries so that they can be financially stable. Make the adjustments to the daily production goals as stated above. Do an "Undercover Boss" program to learn what the production staff goes through.
