The discount, and the constant new product that would come every month. The cool window sets. The ability to get paid every week and also have a commission check as well. Be able to slightly wear anything at work. Meeting cool guests that would come in. Vacation pay if full-time.
Promoted to a full-time key holder. Big change due to the fact that I didn't know how to do pretty much anything in the store. Its a big responsibility because not only are you running the business when your Store Manager is not in the building you are responsible for everything that does and does not happen. You will encounter all kinds of different scenarios that someone wouldn't necessarily train you on. If applying for Management Please make sure your Store Manager fully trains you on EVERYTHING. before you take the position. Maybe management development training would be a great thing to start back doing. The fact that the company might mistake you for a super hero having to transfer items, put up a window, mark down 600 units and do a floor set all in a 7.5hr shiftspan. Dress code is VERY important.. If you don't wear the brand like everyone else, is it subconsciously looked down upon ALWAYS. So if your going to take the position, wear the brand. A lot of potential to move up in the company, just don't make anyone mad . Like your District MGR because they have a ultimate ability to move you through the company. The Company does HAVE IT meaning MONEY don't let them low ball you into under paying you as well. I worked so much I didn't have really any time to myself I was always in the mall. Never got 40 hours on 37.5. David Conn is no longer with the company. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE COMPANY FOR ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN management . Just take your time with your Store Manager and learn everything upfront instead of waiting until it happens.
Advice to Management
FULLY TRAIN YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM. Set up a store for training managers and key holders so that no one is blind sided about not knowing whats going on. DOR the first MGR in Productivity so they know what everything means. Be blunt about the dress code, no more beating around the bush. The $400 Limit is dumb as well. but for theft purchases there must be some other way around it. Its not fair to have sales associates work 4.5 shifts when they can most deff work more. its a big inconvenience.
