I have been working at Tufts Health Plan full-time (More than 3 years)
The people are great - very friendly. The structure is solid. There are policies for everything and they can be your friend. It is great to be able to work from home. It is great to feel like a contributor. Comprehensive benefits, but health insurance is high priced for a self-insured group. Lots of work-life balance opportunities, if you can make up the work time.
There is a lot of Silo thinking, especially in IT. If it is not your unit's issue, you can't spend any time on it, even looking for the person who can help is a waste of time. There is too much finger pointing when it is time to fix things. Getting an issue into "scope" an be impossible if nobody wants to spend their "goodwill" on locating the policy or person who needs to be changed. It is much easier to point fingers than follow up. Solving problems requires more general knowledge.
Advice to Management
The IT units need a more generalist, business focus. No more secrets by policy .
