It's good as a side job to earn extra money

Current Employee - Tutor in Phoenix, AZ

I have been working at Tutor Doctor part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It is a good side job with flexible hours. They ask you if you are willing to work with a particular student and you accept or decline. You work out the hours with the family you are tutoring for. They pre-screen the family and the home before you go tutor there.

    Cons

Sometimes you don't get very many students or hours, so you definitely could not make a living wage from this job. This is the type of job to make some extra money on the side. I don't like how they pay per hour because for each student you would only have 1-5 hours a week on average. They do not compensate you for gas or time driving and you must provide your own materials for tutoring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend giving some sort of compensation for gas or mileage.
