I have been working at U.S. Fund for UNICEF full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

This organization is the face of UNICEF in the United States - very organized, solid leadership, fiscally accountable, lots of room for innovation and creativity. Many coworkers in my department started at a junior level and advanced - shows opportunity to grow your career here. There is concerted effort to develop employees through conferences and professional development organizations. There are also travel opportunities, but not in a wasteful way - client meetings are important, and most staff get the opportunity to visit UNICEF operations in the field after a year or two. Everyone seems happy to be here and feels like the mission makes a difference. After working for two other non-profits, this is by far the best organization I've worked for yet.

    Cons

There is definitely some truth to teams being silo-ed, however senior management is well aware and there are real efforts to communicate across divisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to break down silos and communicate across divisions.
