Former Employee - Associate Director - IT in Stamford, CT

I worked at UBS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Used to have Great people in technology. Been in other big banks no where it matches what UBS had in 2007-2008.

    Cons

Post 2012 IT is complete mess, Fixed income managers who are in Equities now just made this place hell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you restructure one department make sure it does not impact other business lines in IT. Just because some got promoted to MDs during fake Fixed Income billions they just dont qualify to run Equities which is far more competitive business compared to cowboy style Fixed Income IT. Now after winding Fixed Income portfolio's you made those heading FI IT as head of equities they just scared good people out and now you have no one to run your show.
