    I worked at UMB Financial full-time for more than a year


    Pretty easy place to work as long as you smile and seem to have a good attitude. Work life balance was good and manager was very flexible with schedule.


    If you're Ina role where technology is needed to get your job done, it makes for tough going because they're so far behind the times. And if you work in the consumer/retail side of the house it's even worse, because Commercial banking is first when it comes to IT resources. Tuition reimbursement program is dumb- for every class they reimburse you for, you have to complete one full year of service or pay back whatever amount you don't work off. As it relates to 401k match, they only contribute once every year, so if you're not working there on 12/31 you don't get any match. Profit sharing participation has strange timing too. So, it seems they have benefits because they have to have them, but all the restrictions they put around them say that they don't want to pay for them. If you work at 1010, dress code attire is still 1980's era business attire.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You might keep people longer if some of the silly rules are eliminated. Also, you want work completed you have to improve the technology.
