I have been working at URJ

Most people work here because they care. The organization is in the process of improving, and seems more likely than not to end up in a good place. Most people work pretty decent hours, very few evenings and weekends. The org offers a lot of time off - Jewish holidays plus a decent amount of vacation days.

Being in the middle of a transition is tough! There's been a pretty constant fear for the last four years that there will be a big shakedown and a bunch of people will be laid off, which actually occurred about two years ago. The compensation isn't great, especially for young people who aren't rabbis (probably better at higher levels). Most leaders aren't trained as managers, so some managers are great and others aren't. At its worst, the organization has high expectations, and minimal training or support for achieving them.
