Current Employee - Project Engineer in Norfolk, VA

I have been working at US Army Corps of Engineers full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Flexible scheduling. Easy to maintain work-life balance. No requirement to work overtime.

    Cons

Few opportunities for growth. Not challenging for engineers; few in-house design projects. Difficult atmosphere of bureaucracy and red tape.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation is minimal compared to private sector, find creative ways to allow performance based incentives for employees.
