I have been working at US Army Corps of Engineers

    Pros

The job is very stable and the working environment is very laid back. The job security for the engineers at the company is extremely stable. Many people who have worked there have never had to worry about getting laid off. Once you are hired, the onyl way you will get laid off or fired is by doing something illegal (ie stealing company property, lie on background check, etc.). The working environment is extrememly laid back. You work as hard as you wish and no one will ever give you pressure to work more than you want to work. Everyone generally works at a slower pace here.

    Cons

Advancement is not merit based, rather based on years of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management is very easy to get along with and very understanding.
