I worked at US Army full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The Army is a great way to learn to organize your life, focus on what's important and gain invaluable experience that you won't find anywhere else. I thoroughly enjoyed my 22 years of service in the Army. Yep, there are bumps in the road anywhere you go. Focus on the task at hand and you will do very well. I don't regret for a moment my choice to enter the Army as a career.

    Cons

You don't always get the "perfect" assignment. You may not advance a quickly as you would like. Competition can be tough. But life is all about challenges. Make the most of it and the rewards will be there for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a sharp eye out for the people who have exceptional talent and reach out to mentor them along the way. Learning with good advice from superiors is truly motivating.
