  1.

Great place to work. Lots of responsibility and great colleagues. No job out there quite like it.

I have been working at US Department of Justice full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

High level of responsibility prosecuting cases
Great colleagues who are passionate about doing their best
Amazing breadth of experiences: you will grow as an attorney if you have the right supervisor

    Cons

    Management was hit or miss
    Limited advancement opportunities
    Support staff could do more
Not really a con but know that this is not a 9-5 job: worked 14 hours/day and weekends regularly
Large bureaucracy that does not regulate the different sections to provide uniform opportunities or experiences--like most bureaucratic systems, you can get lost in the shuffle. Do your research and look at the turnover of the section you interview with. Some sections at Main Justice have more trial opportunities than others.
