I have been working at US Department of Veterans Affairs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Helping veterans is always great.

    Cons

Bad morale. No one is excited to come to work. Management fosters a hostile work environment by treating subordinates poorly. I've seen managers yelling at people for no reason other than a mood swing. There is no cohesion and conversations with co-workers are punishable. Most people put in head phones and avoid everyone. Cut throat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Foster a positive environment. Stop trying to find reasons for discipline and driving morale into the ground.
