    I have been working at United Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)


    Pay is decent. Local management gets it.


    Disconnected corporate. The people in Willis have NO CLUE what we do in the field every day. Day in, day out. Constant barrage of meaningless online training modules. Inability of the powers that be to come up with customer service procedures, and policies. We just get used to a new policy, it gets discontinued, and replaced with something equally, if not more ridiculous. Our hands are tied so tight with stifling rules, customer service cannot take place. Unless you want to be questioned about it. Corporate keeps talking about a "winning culture", while it has become one of distrust, fear, and lies. While our CEO came from Continental, he obviously took not a single clue from Gordon Bethune. United Airlines has become all about the upper levels, and the investors. There is no room for hard working employees. Continental, and all of it's success, is dead and gone. 20 years with CAL, the rest with "The NEW United". This is not meant to demean anyone on the front line of this company. Be it Customer Service, Inflight, Flight Deck, Ramp Service, Reservations, A/C MX... The majority of the folks that came from Legacy UAL are great people. We ALL want our airline to be the best in the world. Unfortunately, most of the Willis decision makers are letting the wheels fall off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Come up with a vision for United. We feel like we are on a ship adrift in the middle of the ocean. No land in sight. How about some pay cuts for management, and thinning out the herd there instead of where it counts. ON THE FRONT LINE. THE FACE OF "YOUR" COMPANY!
