Former Employee - Accounting Manager in Columbia, MD

I worked at UnitedHealth Group full-time for more than a year

Can't think of any except that I received a paycheck.

Hostile work environment created by 2 Directors in Finance. Their supervisors will not take responsibility to correct the problem.
Hire overqualified people to do mundane work. Lie to candidates in interviews regarding the work they will perform.
Management makes excuses when employees quit. They lie to staff as to the reasons employees choose to leave.
Implementations of new systems are constantly pushing deadlines. Staff is expected to perform their daily tasks and end user testing for months with no end in sight.
Management threatens staff with longer hours and working weekends when they don't get their way.
    Too many unproductive meetings.
Management makes a lot of bad decisions at the expense of the staff. Management is out of touch with the employees. Focus too much on surveys instead of actually speaking to the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to address the "rotten apples" creating the hostile work environment before one of the staff gets smart and reports you to HR. Not sure if you are just not smart enough to recognize the issues or you really want to ignore them.
