    I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (more than 3 years)


    You can find great friendship in your peers. There is the opportunity to earn a quarterly bonus. If you are meeting certain expectations, there is the opportunity to work at home.


    Supervisors are hired from within the company, that have no knowledge of what the team they will be supervising does. And they never even try to learn, they just ask there employees to handle their complaints and questions. There is favoritism, even if your not an employee that shows up for work, or even does work period. Supervisors will try and get each other fired if they do not like each other. Your pay and PTO will be miscalculated at least 3 times a year. Supervisors will punish some employees if you are not helping them meet a goal (which is a goal that is for them to meet, not you) to be the number one team. Whenever there is any type of change in procedures, you will not be notified in time for you to give people proper information. Once you are in Customer Care, there is no way of getting out unless you know someone in another department. So there really is no growth there. Supervisors will talk about their employees to other employees, even about their plans to get them fired. Only expect help from your peers. YOU help each other, no one else will. I do very well in my current role, and I love my peers. But I have seen a lot of bad things happen to good, hard working employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If the CEO knew what type of things were going on at the Pittsburgh location, he would be very disappointed. Not only are the employees affected, but our members are affected greatly by the lack of communication. They deserve quality service. Unfortunately, that is not what they are getting. Please retrain your supervisors on how to effectively lead a team. Lastly, please, please, ask for the opinions of your Customer Care Professionals. I can almost guarantee that your business would greatly improve. Because right now, just as fast as your members are enrolling, they are disenrolling at an even greater pace. I know this because sadly, I have to help them do it.
