I worked at Univar full-time (more than 10 years)

Depth of knowledge by the field employees makes up the rewarding part of employment these days. 5 years ago it was a very desirable, active, and participative employer.

Private capital influence and apparent desire to rid themselves of experienced mid-management for the sake of conformity to their new ideas from outside the industry - it is, simply put, not going well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Like any newly added outside management they each need to get into the organization and listen to the field employees, not the consultants. Taking employee surveys as they are adds visibility, but there are insufficient corrective actions from the top shining through to correspond with the concerns shared- for those who answer honestly.
