I have been working at Universal American full-time (less than a year)

Some nice people to work with. It is nice to have working lunches catered, but.... Decent pay for some. Cannot really think of much.

Minimal training on systems, no training or expectations made clear by the Director, Director does not know Medicare business so how did they become a Director? IT is just coming out of the dark ages. No cohesive plan, too many VP's (one has only 2 or 3 employees!). Zero flexibility. No PTO rollover so don't get sick or plan a vacation the first part of the year, For a health insurance company they have poor insurance for their employees, attendance policy: you are counseled if you call in 2 times in a 12 month period. Upper management gets food catered, staff does not. It did not take long to realize I had made a mistake. VPs with not enough formal education. Dysfunctional would be an understatement, 401K match below industry standard

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop knee-jerk reactions, quit outsourcing so much and you will save money, I wonder how much you spend on catering? Maybe turn that to employee benefits instead of feeding yourselves

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
