I have been working at Universal Hospital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Corporate has a relaxed atmosphere and management is consistently working to improve morale. Teams have strong bonds and the workplace atmosphere is friendly. Co-workers are wonderful and make coming to work enjoyable and work/life balance is a good pace. Changes can happen quickly, unlike many companies where decisions and action is slow to come by. With all the changes, which seem to happen on a regular basis, leadership does work to keep employees informed and communicate with what is going on. With the hiccups that have happened with accounts in the past year, management has been transparent and frontward with what has happened and what needs to change. Good benefits, decent pay, large market share great mission and opportunities are vast.

    Cons

Constant reorganization, which easily scares good people away. While the company certainly is not afraid to make changes, too much change appears unstable and the amount of change that has happened over even the past 5 years is becoming ridiculous. Management is a constant shuffle. Makes it difficult to have faith in the future of the company and even can discourage those good people that want to be promoted, as management seems to be a fearful position to have.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is difficult to see where UHS will be heading in the next few years with how things change on a daily basis. Senior management has come and gone so much, it can make employees uneasy. I think in response to this, it is great that they are starting to work to strengthen department employee relationships and improve the overall atmosphere. This needs to be a constant work in process and it has only just begun. UHS has a great mission but it needs to be more driven and engage employees in a long term vision.
