I have been working at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It depends on which professor you are working with. Choose your adviser wisely! I worked in the ECE department. The pay is better than other departments, but still not as good (see cons). The good thing in the ECE department is that you are almost guaranteed to get a TA, as they provide positions for who decided to switch groups.

    Cons

Low pay. Possibly bad supervisor. Equipment depends on the lab/group you join. Otherwise no complaints.
