Minnesota is a great research-based university that has a strong reputation in the academic world. At Minnesota, you are surrounded by smart professors and grad students.

Minnesota is a top university, but with such a large undergrad population, not all undergrads are as strong academically as you would like them to be. The top students are very strong, but there can be a significant drop off. This is different than a smaller more selective school whose entire student population is more homogenous in terms of quality.

    Advice to Management

The leadership at Minnesota seems to be strong. The new president has only been there for a short time <5-6 years, and he seems to be positioning the university well for years to come.
