The variety of persons, culture, interests, and levels of expertise is complex and daunting, at first. Eventually, one adjusts and gravitates to those most beneficial and rewarding.

The system can be very rigid and unforgiving and as such, resists growth, development and achievement, both for itself and the individual. The focus of the head of my Department tended toward control, rather that management of resources.
