I worked at VA Health full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Serving Veterans made a huge difference and I made some great friends.

    Cons

Everything else. Managers are vindictive if you don't "fit in" with their expectations. IN the middle of nowhere Minnesota, that normally involves being white, related, married, having kids, and or friends with the SUPs and Managers. They also tend to selectively follow National Directives (Phoenix, anyone?) They enforce whats convenient and ignore what is not. Ask about 1010EC forms for long term care. There are Veterans with $14000 of debt due to those.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and smell the nepotism and the racism. Get your act together please.
