I have been working at VMware full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I've been consulting around VMware products for partners for the last several years, it is nice to now have a channel back to the people who own the code when you encounter things in the field. Access to the next version of software to prepare before seeing it in the field in front of a customer is a plus. Benefits seem to be at the better end of what I've seen at my last 3 places of employment - 401k matching (decent match), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, good health care options. There appears to be opportunity to move into different roles within the company if you are looking for a new challenge but not looking to change companies.

    Cons

Work-Life balance - No set number of vacation days, this could be an issue depending on who you work for. I'm used to having 3 weeks of vacation, don't think it would be an issue to do that now if my utilization is on target, but I have heard some managers might frown on taking 3 weeks off.
