    I have been working at Vencore full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    The company has a variety of contracts supporting a few major customers. They have operations in a several locations across the country. The company is comprised of several different companies with somewhat similar backgrounds - some contracts have been in place for many years. This is your standard wholesale contractor - offering SI and SE support to federal customers.

    Cons

    The SI type support often translates into a very technical person handling many administrative tasks for their direct customer.

    There are virtually zero career development opportunities for salaried, on-contract employees. Virtual meetings to share thoughts and feedback are almost always off-site and on your own time.

    With regard to corporate culture, the culture of on-contract employees is often to commiserate after each corporate town hall or communication. The direction of the company has been focused on "harmonization" which manifested into a strategy of keeping benefits and salaries as low as possible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Your harmonization campaign was embarrassing - you contradict yourself when saying you want to offer customers top tier SE&I services yet offer paltry incentives to motivate and keep employees.

    The recent exodus of high performing junior and senior employees will continue as they discover how much better they might have it elsewhere.

    Trust your PMs to do their job; instead of having HR constantly play zone defense. Lastly, stop the bait-and-switch of junior employees who don't know any better.
