I worked at Verizon full-time (More than 3 years)
Compensation package is subject to work experience and your expected salary (if within their budget) therefore it is still fine in general.
Lacking of career advancement for entry positions. HR does not have any intention to develop retention program for employees holding entry positions. Downsizing exercise happens unnecessary for twice a year on average since they day Verizon bought over MCI. Work quality (impacting to external and internal deparments) drops significantly for work outsourced to Philippines and India.
Advice to Management
Need to seek a balance - cost savings vs work quality. Doing downsizing/outsourcing exercises without able to maintain the expected/minimum service level basically does not make sense and would jeopardize the company to grow revenue and improve customer satisfaction.
