I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)
Tuition reimbursement. Great training. Ability to learn some of the more recent sales techniques. Phone and service discounts. Interesting customers and coworkers to interact with.
I was inspired by the company when I first started working there. However, week by week and month by month it destroys any sense of self respect and motivation you have. Upper management is untouchable and have made it abundantly clear that you do not matter, you are easily replaced, and what was considered exceptional performance last month is considered failing this month. Commission structure and quotas change frequently so if you have found a way to make decent money, they will find a way to make it unattainable next month. Little to no chance to move up in the company as superiors have "dug in their heels" in current positions because the only place to go is to quit or be fired.
Advice to Management
Bring back employee surveys and implement change with your customers (and employees) in mind.
