I worked at Vermont Mutual full-time (More than a year)

Financially sound insurance company that has selected industry products that are lucrative. Eight to Four strictly enforced since the 1800s.

Old school business with policies and procedures based in the 1800s. Process improvement is painfully slow. Not a nimble or flexible work environment. All work is within brick and mortar facilities with very little workforce innovation.

    Advice to Management

Think outside the box. Just because a process was created 100 years ago and has "worked" since then does not mean it is the most productive or efficient today. Process improvement would create significant efficiencies both in time to delivery but also decreased reliance on manual labor.
