I worked at Vivid Seats full-time (Less than a year)

Overall, I had a very positive experience working for Vivid Seats as a Sales Associate for a number of reasons: - Decent location in the West Loop - If you're prepared to be flexible with your schedule and work nights/weekends, you can make good money - Decent work/life balance with a relatively flexible schedule - Decent benefits and perks (affordable health/dental, fully stocked fridge with free soda & coffee, happy hours, frequently catered lunches, employee discounts to sold out events) - Young and diverse staff (very welcoming and fun) - Casual office - Fairly stress free job (no cold calling) - Formal reviews every 6-10 weeks with pay raises and promotions - Consistent and secure job with regular options for overtime (time and a half for anything over 40 hours per week and national holidays) - Option to work from home If you have just graduated from college or you're looking for an "in-between" gig, I would definitely recommend working at Vivid Seats. It's a fast growing company, so you can learn a lot in sales and basic account management to add to your resume. There's some fairly horrific entry level jobs out there, so for the most part they treat they're employees well!

While no job is perfect, there are a number of issues that make staying at Vivid Seats longer than a year problematic. - Ultimately you're working at a call center, so the work environment is not the most inspiring - If you work "regular hours" (everyone has to work at least 1 weekend day and 1 late shift until 10pm regardless), the pay starts off low - Schedule is not 9 -5, which after a while took a toll on my general happiness for not working normal business hours - The job is repetitive and can get mundane quickly. After about 6 months, I felt I was ready to move on - Turn over is a little higher due to the nature of this job. There is a lot of aspiring marketing/artists/performer talent that finds more career-aspiring work else where - There is an expectation to perform at a certain standard (converting calls into actual sales) and people do get let go for not living up to this. Although, once you be consistent and listen to training/arrive on time, you shouldn't have any serious issues - Communication from management is hazy at best and not the most organized In summary, there's not a huge amount of career growth here unless you end up moving into management. If you're not sure what to do next and are comfortable speaking to people on the phone, then I would definitely say it's worth a try.

    Advice to Management

Communication could be better. During busy periods, the floor can get quite chaotic and there's not always someone available to give the right answers to urgent questions. Protocol can change suddenly without any formal instruction other than an email being sent to the general team, which often leads to some confusion and errors. There appears to be a trend of hiring and firing in large waves and ending up falling into the same trap of being understaffed and under pressure to hire whoever sends in an application. This leads to discrepancies in training for newer agents as start-groups tend to be bigger and don't get enough time to receive adequate training. As a company, they could also be doing a lot more in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility and contributing to the greater community. The office doesn't even recycle!
