    I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 3 years)


    They care about your safety. They pay you on time.


    Extremely punitive culture in place where you are told and required to sign that you understand about 40 different ways you will be terminated. In the same orientation you are told you should be able to work in a non-threatening environment. The four way test is constantly violated. I was told when I joined I would go through a two year pay progression, which I did and completed. After this two year progression I would be get the raise or bonus the rest of the employees got. Well instead of that I got notified they changed the requirements to a 3 year progression. Very dishonorable. That would be telling someone I'll pay them 50 dollars for doing a job, they do the job, and then I say well you can have 40 dollars but next year we'll pay you 50. How does that pass the four way test.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I've worked for the best companies in this country. Some of these companies had excellent strong cultures. A strong culture, which will result in a high performance team is built through leadership, constant supervision, good processes, and by example of managers. Strong culture is not obtained through mindless, cult like repetitive chanting of cultural beliefs. I don't know why Walgreens would want to waste such a great amount of money promoting a culture that contradicts their actions. Walgreens does not care about retention or building high performance teams. Walgreens prefers high turnover, which results in lower wages and keeps shareholders happy. That is the one thing that Walgreens is good at. It is a core competency. Just embrace your true culture and strength and stop punishing employees with contradicting efforts.
