I have been working at Walgreens

    Pros

Long track history of not having to lay off or fire people. They pride themselves on being a place you can grow. And the ability to relocate is nice.

    Cons

Very old boy network style. String people along with promotions. Yet someone that comes in from say the pharmacy to take on a management position will be fast tracked through the system even though the supporting cast may be holding there hand through the whole process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to get back in touch with the people who run the stores a real big disconnect. Bringing in new college kids or hiring talent from other companies takes always the feeling of if i work hard i can move up like the next guy or gal.
