Probably the same as or better than most retail companies in many ways, better in others

I have been working at Walgreens

Flexibility to be out of the store (in my role), profit sharing is solid and has a variety of good funds to choose from, salary is higher than average for the area and for the work involved.

The company is and has been changing exponentially throughout the last 5 years. Now a global company, outsiders are revamping the company to more closely mirror their European operations. Work-life balance is fair but can be difficult at times of the year and if you are a driven person. Leadership is as mixed as it comes. My current boss is horrible, my former boss was terrific. PTO policy is horrible and benefits were actually lost when they went to this new model.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is nothing I could say that upper management would listen to unfortunately. It's a "do as I say" environment and many people are scared to color outside of the lines even a tiny bit. PTO policy is embarrassing and unfair. Training is a complete travesty, but corporate keeps trying to reinvent the wheel.
