As a Pharmacist at Walgreen, I felt like I was working in a sweat shop.

I have been working at Walgreens

Pharmacy was the the bread and butter of pharmacy. You have the respect of management and employees outside. Also, they are the leader in terms of innovation. Their pharmacy software was the best I have every seen

Even though their software was awesome it does not allow you to spend time with customers since they under staff you as a result. I felt like I was working in a sweat shop. Also, new grads were often given the 24 hour stores where the work load was barely manageable. Those who got the nice stores were the ones who are either lucky or threatened to quit. I definitely would not recommend working at Walgreens unless management can guarantee you will get a nice store that fills less than 200 per day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to provide greater incentive for those working at 24 hour stores. The annual bonus the pharmacist gets is not even worth working under those conditions. They should increase the bonus for those working in 24 hour stores and decrease the bonus for those working in non 24 hour stores for a net loss of zero. Also, pay rate for those working in 24 hour store should be 1 to 2 dollars more than those who don't. In other worlds, 24 hour stores should be places where moral is greatest not lowest. That why you can keep your customers, reduce turn over, and attract new customers.
