I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)
The work is easy and simple. Can be fun with fellow employees.
Horrible management. One sick day, even if you're dying is basically a write up. Which apparently I had gotten sick just in time to start work. Overall after I ended my time with Walmart, I had 13 sick days over 5 months. Sure it's a lot. But that's 4 days a month I felt more ill than usual. And I always brought a doctors note. I was told by my supervisors that the doctors notes don't even dismiss you. I needed to transfer Walmarts because of a hardship and both Walmarts had a different process then blamed me for not doing things properly. They refused to call each other until something had been sorted out by me. But their ways didn't cooperate with each other.
Advice to Management
Stop acting like this is a joyful place. It's not. I was blamed for taking 4 breaks a day, and was yelled at several times. They threatened to check the cameras and I let them know I had absolutely no problem with that. They always confronted me in front of many curtomers or fellow employees. AND apparently if one manager passes by you sitting at a table on your break then it automatically means you've been there for 45 minutes. Whenever I was confronted I was never able to tell my side and was always called a liar. Or talked over. Stop it.
