I have been working at Waste Management

    Pros

Great co-workers that are excellent at what they do. Overall, the company has a strong reputation and relative job security. Innovative techologies are coming down the line making WM a potentially exciting place to work in the next 3 - 5 years.

    Cons

Too many layers in management, with little recognition to those who deserve it, a lot of "change" with little to no guidance or explaination of new roles/responsibilities; you must be be okay with ambiguity. Pay is also lower than comparable positions elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management seems too far out of touch with the front line employees; it would be wise to take time to spend with your employees who have been "doing the job" for some time and whose experience can provide valuable insight to what customers want and need. Take time to recognize the strengths of your team. Work to develop and cultivate those opportunities, while also closely scrutinizing managagement's ability to lead and motivate, otherwise you will lose quality employees.
