Great team environment at store level, terrible management at regional level, VP level and above

I worked at Waterway Gas & Wash full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    1. Easy to get promoted, great management training program
    2. Great store level management, they really do put everything they can into running the store (at most locations)
    3. It can be a great team environment, depending on which store you work at

    Cons

Basically the entire corporate office is a joke, they are way too disconnected from the carwash side of the business. I am not kidding about this next part, two times I had to do a video conference meeting with the CFO, nothing strange about that except that we were in the conference room on the first floor and he was in his office on the second floor.. two times, and I am sure there have been many of those "financial meetings" since I left. If you are just working as a line associate or even a management trainee you wont notice the disconnection and laziness, but as you progress though the ranks you pick up on some things. It can be a great job for a high school or college student but beyond that its a waste of time. The management training program is a great, however if you do not fit a certain profile you will NEVER make it to general manger, you must be white, male, and around the age of 30 but look like you are 25.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make all positions less demanding, a high school kid has no business coming in on a rainy day with no chance of making tips (so only making 4.25 hr) and cleaning in the wash tunnel or in the store. Same can be said for managers making 30-40K per year, no need for them to be working 60+ hours per week with no extra compensation, only salary.
