    Pros

WS has every possible resource, great big-name clients, smart and hard-working people and lots of good perks that make working a little easier. People are willing and happy to help you if you ask.

There is always something to do ,someone to help and something to learn, you will never be bored.

They have a really fantastic intern program that allows interns to learn from each other and get advice from their advisor.

Weber Shandwick is well-respected in Chicago and you'll be surrounded by tons of potential new business and big, exciting projects.

Weber is on top in terms of innovation, creativity and ground-breaking strategy.

Weber is not a company that fumbles, employees perform, perform, and perform some more.

You will learn to work ten times harder than you ever have, and push yourself to a new limit. I've learned a ton in a short time.

I have fun when I'm not working and actually getting to know coworkers.

    Cons

As an intern, there's pretty much no leeway for mistakes. Meticulous, type A people will thrive here. Cliques thrive here. Mind-readers thrive here.

No one seems to really know one another. The environment is stressful, tight, and obsessed with servicing the client far beyond what they're actually paying for and what is necessary. Definitely a work-or-die environment.

Workload is skewed. Some interns are buried under work while others take two hour lunches.

My supervisors were ready to rip my head off for the slightest faults which definitely created more stress for me. Most of it was petty and mean-spirited. was more afraid to make mistakes than I was excited to learn. There is no room or space to relax.

Most people don't care if you're an intern and just got here, they expect you to work just as smart as full-time employees and do everything perfectly, every time.

To step outside of boundaries, there is a lot of red tape you have to cut. Ask permission for everything you want to do and overcommunicate your every action. You don't have that freedom to explore here. Can feel like a cog in a wheel.

If you get hired, expect to dedicate your heart, soul and TONS of your outside time into doing the absolute best that you can at your job. It sometimes seems like you are on the clock 24/7

This office isn't diverse and it reflects in some of the general thinking. If they were given a project that needed to target minorities, they would be at a loss.

It's almost all-female so make of that what you will.

    Advice to Management

Relax, practice empathy. Understand that interns are learning as well as doing, give them the freedom to do that. Otherwise, great work, thanks for helping out and teaching when you can.
