Wellpoint tries to live by its mission and value statements. The executive leadership team tries to create a culture of respect, regardless of title.
There is no oversite of frontline managers at satelite offices. These are offices where there is only a sole manager over staff. Sometimes at these types of sites, the managers do not live by the company values. Therefore, if you work out of a corporate office, I am sure the culture is more inline with what the officiers want.
Advice to Management
Following up with what you say you will do helps build trust. Over the past couple of years, the Associate Survey results were not shared. Announcements provided stated the results would be shared by each local office, like managers did two years ago. It was nice to know that management took the Associate Surveys to heart and asked each manager to form an action plan to make things better. The results that were specific to the location of the associate was shared along with an action plan by the local manager. However, this has not been done in the past couple of years.
