    I worked at WestJet

    Pros

As with any organisation, WestJet has gone from a startup to an entrepreneurship to a bureaucracy, with typical growing pains. Amongst this, the company provides ample opportunity to grow within the organisation. I personally went from a front line position to an internal senior consulting position within ten years.

Their mantra is to take your job seriously, but NOT yourself. Something we could all learn from.

The company culture is very welcoming, warm, highly motivated, encouraging and fun.

The head office is a beautiful campus with lots of light, great facility.

Flight benefits are a huge boon if you can take advantage of them.

    Cons

Can be chaotic, and you will sometimes be pushed to your limits - learning to say no diplomatically is required.

As with any organisation, your experience will depend greatly on your immediate leadership. Ensuring the company and role are a good fit for you, is just as important as ensuring you are for them.

The head office is located at the Calgary airport, but has no access to the airport due to the new runway. There is a employee bus that runs regularly to the airport however.

Profit share has been a little stingy of late, and no longer is a real incentive. The profit share parties are a lot of fun though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep it up, watch out for the silos and empire building within the organisation.
